WH125/150 Stator Trigger / Pickup Coil
🔧 Trigger Coil · Pulse Coil · Ignition Pickup
Fits WH125cc / 150cc Engines · Magneto Ignition System
This is the Magneto Stator Ignition Pickup Trigger for WH125cc / 150cc engines, also known as a trigger coil or pulse coil. The trigger coil is an essential component of the engine's ignition system, mounted on the stator and working together with the trigger tab on the flywheel rotor.
As the engine rotates, the trigger tab on the rotor passes by the trigger coil, generating a small voltage signal. This signal is sent to the CDI unit, which determines the ignition timing and triggers the ignition coil to produce a high-voltage spark. A faulty or degraded trigger coil can cause incorrect ignition timing, hard starting, poor acceleration, and other issues.
✨ Key Functions: Generates ignition trigger signal · Controls ignition timing · Works with CDI unit

This trigger coil primarily fits the following engines:
- WH125cc Engine (Wangye 125cc)
- WH150cc Engine (Wangye 150cc)
- Other GY6-type engines using the same trigger coil specifications
Compatible vehicles include:
- Various scooters using WH125/150 engines
- Some GY6 125cc/150cc scooters
- ATVs, go-karts, and other vehicles using Wangye engines
📌 Compatibility Note: This trigger coil has specifications: length 27mm, width 22mm, height 20mm, mounting hole spacing 30mm. Before purchasing, please verify that your original trigger coil dimensions match, or confirm your engine is a WH125/150 series.
🔄 Signal Generation
When the trigger tab on the flywheel passes the trigger coil, it induces a small voltage pulse signal.
⚡ Ignition Trigger
This signal is sent to the CDI unit, telling it the piston position so it can trigger the ignition coil at the correct time.
⏱️ Timing Control
The timing of the trigger signal determines the ignition advance angle, directly affecting power output and combustion efficiency.
🔧 RPM Sensing
The CDI also uses the frequency of trigger signals to sense engine RPM and adjust ignition characteristics.
- No Start: Engine shows no signs of ignition, no spark.
- Hard Starting: Requires multiple attempts to start, or stalls easily after starting.
- Rough Idle: Engine vibrates at idle, unstable RPM.
- Misfiring During Acceleration: Hesitation or stumbling during acceleration.
- Incorrect Ignition Timing: Backfiring, popping, or lack of power.
- Multimeter Test: Trigger coil resistance is abnormal (should typically be in the hundreds of ohms range).
Testing Method: Use a multimeter on resistance mode to measure across the trigger coil terminals. Normal resistance is typically between 50-500 ohms (consult your service manual for exact specs). If resistance is infinite or significantly out of range, the coil is faulty.
🔧 Installation Tip
1. Replacing the trigger coil requires removing the magneto cover and flywheel/rotor. Professional installation is recommended.
2. Clean the mounting surface before installation, ensuring no debris on the stator.
3. Install the new trigger coil in the original position, secure with bolts, and ensure proper air gap between coil and rotor (typically 0.3-0.8mm).
4. Connect the wiring connector, ensuring good contact.
5. When installing the flywheel/rotor, align the keyway and tighten the nut to specified torque.
6. After installation, test starting and idle to confirm normal ignition operation.
