WH 125cc 8 Pole Stator Assembly
⚡ 8 Pole Stator · Magneto Coil · Charging Coil · Engine Electrical Component
For 125cc / 150cc 4-Stroke Scooter Engines · GY6 Series · QJ153QMI / 152QMI
This is the WH 8 Pole Stator Assembly (also known as magneto coil or charging coil), a critical component of the motorcycle engine's charging and ignition system. This stator is commonly used on 125cc and 150cc 4-stroke scooter engines and is the standard configuration for GY6 series engines.
The stator works in conjunction with the magneto rotor (flywheel). As the engine runs, the rotor rotates and creates a changing magnetic field. The stator coils cut through the magnetic field lines, generating alternating current (AC) to power the vehicle's electrical system and charge the battery. This 8-pole coil design provides stable power output, ensuring proper ignition system operation and reliable electrical supply for all vehicle components.
✨ Core Functions: Provide trigger signal for ignition system · Power vehicle electrical components · Charge the battery · Ensure proper engine start and operation
🔩 How It Works
The stator consists of an iron core and copper coils, mounted on the left side of the engine crankcase. The magneto rotor (flywheel with magnets) rotates with the crankshaft, inducing electromotive force in the stator coils. The stator typically contains multiple coil sets: charging coil (powers main circuit), ignition coil (provides trigger signal for CDI), and lighting coil (powers headlights).
⚠️ Common Failure Symptoms
• Engine won't start or difficult to start
• No spark or weak spark
• Battery not charging, frequently discharges
• Dim headlights, unstable lighting
• Rough idle, poor acceleration
• Burnt coils, damaged insulation, abnormal resistance readings
🔍 Quick Test Method: Use a multimeter to measure resistance values of each stator coil. Normal ranges: Charging coil approximately 0.5-1.5Ω, Ignition trigger coil approximately 100-300Ω. If resistance values are abnormal (open circuit, short circuit, or outside normal range), the stator assembly needs replacement.

🔧 Installation Guide
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety.
2. Remove the left side fan cover and magneto cover (flywheel cover).
3. Use a flywheel puller tool to remove the magneto rotor (flywheel).
4. Remove stator mounting bolts and take out the old stator assembly.
5. Clean the stator mounting surface and inspect the wiring harness grommet for damage.
6. Install the new stator and tighten mounting bolts to specified torque.
7. Reinstall the magneto rotor, ensuring alignment with the keyway, and tighten the center nut to specified torque.
8. Connect the stator harness connectors and verify all connections are secure.
9. Reinstall the magneto cover and fan cover, reconnect the battery, and start the engine to test the charging system.
Important Note: Route the wiring harness carefully to avoid contact with moving parts. Use proper technique when operating the flywheel puller to prevent damage to the flywheel or crankshaft. Professional installation is strongly recommended.
Spec Confirmation: Before purchasing, verify your engine model and original stator pole count (8 pole) to ensure compatibility. Staters with different pole counts are not interchangeable.
Failure Diagnosis: If experiencing no-start, no-spark, or charging issues, first test stator coil resistance values to confirm proper function.
Installation Caution: Stator installation involves internal engine components. Professional installation is strongly recommended. Secure wiring harness properly to prevent chafing or pinching. Product images are for reference only; actual product may vary.
