WH 125cc DC Unrestricted CDI Ignition
⚡ DC CDI · Unrestricted Ignition · Capacitor Discharge Ignition · 6-Pin Round Connector
For 50cc / 90cc / 125cc / 150cc 4-Stroke Engines · Scooters · ATVs · Dirt Bikes · Go Karts
This is the WH DC Unrestricted CDI Ignition Module (Capacitor Discharge Ignition), a critical electronic component in the ignition system of modern 4-stroke scooters, ATVs, dirt bikes, and go karts. This CDI module is commonly used on today's popular medium to large engine sizes of 50cc, 90cc, 125cc, and 150cc.
Please note: This is a DC CDI (DC-powered type), suitable for vehicles with DC-powered ignition systems. It features a 6-pin rounded connector for direct plug-and-play installation with the original harness.
✨ Core Functions: Receive trigger signal · Store high-voltage energy · Precisely control ignition timing · Send high-voltage pulse to ignition coil · Generate spark to ignite air-fuel mixture
🔩 How It Works
DC CDI draws 12V DC power from the battery, steps up the voltage through internal circuitry, and stores it in a capacitor. When the crankshaft rotates, the trigger coil generates a trigger signal, and the CDI releases the stored high-voltage energy to the ignition coil primary at the precise moment. The ignition coil secondary generates tens of thousands of volts, causing the spark plug to fire and ignite the air-fuel mixture.
⚠️ Common Failure Symptoms
• Engine won't start, no spark
• Other electrical components work (headlight, horn) but no ignition
• No pulse signal to ignition coil
• No spark at spark plug
• Intermittent stalling, won't start when hot
• Poor acceleration, lack of power
🔍 Quick Test Method: If other electrical systems are working properly (headlight on, horn sounds) but there's no spark, and the ignition coil and magneto (charging coil, trigger coil) have been tested and are normal, the CDI is very likely faulty. The CDI, ignition coil, and magneto are the three main components that create spark to run the vehicle.

💡 Application Note: This is a DC-powered CDI, designed for vehicles with battery-powered ignition systems. Before installation, verify your original CDI type (DC or AC). DC CDIs typically have a power wire connected to the battery positive or ignition switch output.
🏁 Removes Rev Limiter
Factory CDIs typically have a rev limiter (speed limiter) to comply with emissions regulations or protect the engine. The unrestricted CDI removes this rev limit, unlocking the engine's high-rpm potential for improved acceleration and top speed.
⚡ Optimized Ignition Timing
Features an optimized ignition advance curve, providing more precise ignition timing across different RPM ranges for improved combustion efficiency, throttle response, and power output.
⚠️ Note: Removing the rev limiter allows the engine to reach higher RPM. Ensure other engine components (valves, crankshaft, piston, etc.) are in good condition to prevent damage from over-revving.
- DC Powered Design: Powered by the battery for stable ignition energy and superior starting performance, especially in cold weather compared to AC CDI.
- Unrestricted Version: Removes factory rev limiter to unlock high-rpm potential for improved acceleration and top speed.
- Optimized Ignition Curve: Precise ignition advance control for improved combustion efficiency and throttle response.
- 6-Pin Round Connector: Standard connector design for direct plug-and-play installation with original harness — no wiring modifications needed.
- High Reliability: Manufactured with high-quality electronic components and fully potted with epoxy for waterproof, vibration-resistant, and high-temperature performance, ensuring long service life.
- Wide Compatibility: Suitable for 50cc-150cc 4-stroke engines, covering scooters, ATVs, dirt bikes, go karts, and more.
🔧 Installation Guide
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety.
2. Locate the original CDI module (typically under the seat, inside the storage compartment, or behind the side cover).
3. Unplug the original CDI connector (6-pin round connector), releasing the locking tab.
4. Align the new CDI module with the connector, ensuring it is fully inserted and locked in place.
5. Secure the CDI module in the original mounting location to prevent harness strain or vibration loosening.
6. Reconnect the battery negative terminal and start the engine to test ignition function.
7. After confirming normal engine start and smooth operation, installation is complete.
Important Note: Confirm that your vehicle uses a DC CDI system (DC 12V power supply). AC CDI systems (powered by the magneto) are not compatible with this product. Pay attention to connector orientation to avoid bending pins.
Type Confirmation: This is a DC CDI (DC-powered type). Before installation, verify your original CDI type. AC CDI systems (powered by the magneto) are NOT compatible with this product — incorrect installation may damage the CDI.
Failure Diagnosis: If other electrical components work (headlight, horn) but there's no spark, and the ignition coil and magneto test normal, the CDI is likely faulty and needs replacement.
Installation Note: Ensure the connector is fully inserted and locked to prevent poor contact. Professional installation is recommended. Product images are for reference only; actual product may vary.
