🔬 Starter Relay Testing Procedure

● Step 1: Function Test - Apply DC 12V between the positive and negative terminals of the relay coil. Use a multimeter to check for continuity (beep) between the two large contact terminals.

● Step 2: De-energized Test - Remove the DC 12V power. There should be NO continuity between the two large contact terminals.

● Step 3: Conclusion - If both of the above tests are OK, it indicates the relay is functionally good.

⚠️ CAUTION: The voltage loaded between terminals cannot exceed 1 minutes; otherwise, the starter relay may overheat or burn.

● Step 4: Coil Resistance Test - Set your multimeter to Diode or Resistance mode (1×10Ω range). Measure the resistance across the relay coil terminals. If the reading is out of specification, replace the relay.
