🔌 Starter Relay Testing Procedure

Apply DC 12V between the positive and negative terminals. Use a multimeter to check for continuity between the two main contacts.

If the multimeter clicks (beeps), there is continuity between the contacts.

If DC 12V is removed, there should be no continuity between the contacts.

If both of the above steps are OK, it indicates the relay is good. Turn the multimeter to DIODE mode for further checks.

⚠️ CAUTION: The voltage applied between the terminals should not exceed 2 minutes, otherwise, the starter relay may overheat or burn.

Use a multimeter to measure the starter relay coil resistance. If the reading is out of specification, replace the relay.

Turn the multimeter to the 1×10Ω range.
